It has been years, and Tai Chin has not come close to finding her half-sister. It seemed like she was always two steps behind her, with only her scent and the word of the villagers remaining behind. Her travels has lead her here, to the forest that was rumored to once be inhabited by a hanyou who was bound to a tree some fifty years ago by a miko before she finally bled to death. It was told to Tai that not far from this forest was a village in which resided the miko's younger sister, now some fifty years older, served as village miko.
Perhaps it was in the forest or the nearby village that Tai would finally meet her half-sister Hoshiko. She had only the name to go on, little else. Tai did not know anything of her sister's parentage, only thinking that it maybe her father that shared himself with a lover. And there was the possibility that Hoshiko could be a hanyou. There were so many possibilities, it would take some time for Tai to run through them all.

Naraku’s scent disappeared after a long storm. Sayuri was totally annoyed by this. All she had to work to find the devil’s traces and now water had to make them vanish. She was getting closer to Kikyo’s old village, nowadays Kaede’s home, her younger sister. The people in the village knew about Sayuri, she was not a bad demon so there was no need for the habitants to be scared.
‘Naraku… I curse you.’ – Sayuri mumbled to herself.
The dog demon had passed an old and dry well and was now entering the forest. An unfamiliar scent could be smelled. Was it an ally or an enemy? If it was a demon with bad intentions against Kaede’s village Sayuri would not doubt destroying it. If it was just a traveller, the girl would just ignore him or her.

Tai caught the scent of another youkai in the forest; though she had sensed the spirit of the youkai long before. A Inu youkai; not her sister. There was that tiny bit of hope in Tai, but she has experienced enough dead ends not to raise the hope bar up too high. So, she continued on towards the village, knowing few could sense her youkai aura side from the miko. So, there was little that Tai feared from a village such as this one.
(Sorry it's short. I may bring in Hoshiko)

Sayuri noticed the leopard’s scent heading towards the village. She wouldn’t go and directly challenge her. It was better to wait for the other youkai to show the first card. The dog demon continued her walk calmly but still in alert for any kind of move the other demon could make. Finally Sayuri reached the village. Some of the humans greeted her and a little girl called Aiko jumped on her and started touching her hair.
‘(Sa)Yuri-chan’s hair is soft and silver.’ – The girl commented with a smile.
Sayuri gave Aiko another smile. She was just too tender to not avoid the fact of feeling happy. Kaede, as always, was in the middle of her daily walk through the village. When she saw the dog demon the miko raised her hand and waved.
‘Long time no see Sayuri.’
The inu demon let the human girl back to the ground and walked towards the ancient. The expression on her face made Kaede’s smile disappear.
‘Is anything wrong?’ – She asked. ‘I sense another demon Kaede and I think there’s another one, but not so close.’

Tai appeared from the forest and saw the village not far from where she stood. The youkai aura that she sensed earlier was coming from the village. The snow leopard knew to be careful with the one youkai and miko in the village. She knew that it wasn't her sister, for the aura and spirit would be different than that of the inu one she was sensing at the moment. Her weapon sheathed but in easy reach, Tai began her way to the village. It took a few minutes, but she arrived; keeping her mind and body alert for anything.

‘How is this possible? What happened to the barrier I made?’
Sayuri arched and eyebrow. Since when was Kaede capable of making magical barriers? The Inu’s eyes flinched for a brief second when the scent of the leopard got even closer. She didn’t like strangers and she disliked them more if they were demons heading to a village full of innocent people.
‘Your barrier did never exist Kaede, let’s go to your home, hurry up.’
The female demon took a last look on Aiko, letting the little girl know she should go back with her parents.
‘When did the last demon appear Kaede?’

The activity in the village was that of a normal one; people working the fields, minding the livestock, mending, tending, and the overall care of the village. Tai made no aggressive move toward any of the villagers, knowing that'll spark something the snow leopard didn't want to spark. That didn't mean that they were watching her with a weary eye on a stranger. Casually making her way through the village, Tai Chin made her way towards the home of the miko, hoping that she would know something of Hoshiko.

‘He’s close…’ – Sayuri mumbled.
Her fingers stretched out and her nails grow longer. Kaede got somewhat upset when she saw it. The miko did not like senseless fights and believed blindly that there were also good demons in world.
‘Please Sayuri, not all demons are like Naraku…’
Those words made Sayuri react.
‘How do you know that? There’s a lot of trash out there.’
The demon stood up and opened the door and stepped out of the house with Kaede right behind here. The other demon was very close and in any moment Sayuri would see him.

The miko's house came into view and Tai could see someone standing in front of it, waiting for her. Well, this was a surprise; good or bad she didn't know. Once she was within speaking distance, Tai spoke.
"I mean no harm, I've only come to see the miko of this village."

Sayuri’s look went from up to down through the stranger’s body. She didn’t know if it was a good idea to trust her words until Kaede spoke.
‘And I am here for everything you need, young lady.’ – Kaede said before Sayuri could answer to the girl’s words.

"I'm in a search of one with only the knowledge of her name, miko," Tai said, pondering if she should remove her sheathed sword from her side. Deciding she was better off with it at her side, Tai took a few steps toward the two, ignoring the inu youkai for the moment. "I was wondering if you have heard of a youkai, or even a hanyou, by the name of Hoshiko."

Sayuri decided to not provoke a senseless fight for the moment. The other demon seemed to not have bad intentions. Kaede went back into her house with a smile.
'Come in young lady, let's talk about this inside.'
Once the ancient disappeared after the door, only the youkais were outside. The Inu demon was not going to say anything, besides that, she didn't know a thing about that girl named 'Hoshiko', so there was no need for a conversation.
'I'll stay here for the moment.' - Sayuri said emotionless.

Tai followed the miko into her hut that served as a home for her. She figured the inu youkai knew little, if nothing, about Hoshiko; so simply passed her by. The snow leopard moved the straw door out of her way so she could step inside the hut. It was simple, as were all the hut homes in many villages. She took her sword from her side and leaned it against the wall near the door in case something happened and she could grab it on the way out.

Kaede sat down on the ground, facing the female demon and telling her to sit down with her. Sayuri was still out; there was something in the air which upset her a bit. It wasn’t the snow leopard, it was something different, yet didn’t know what it was.
‘So, who are you looking for again?’ – Kaede asked.

"She's suppose to be my half-sister; Hoshiko," Tai said, sitting down. "I've followed rumors and the occasional scent; until I arrived here. It seems like there's not much people know of a young snow leopard. I know nothing other than her name and that we share the same father," Tai finished.
It was true, that was all that Tai had to go on, other than the rumors and dead end leads that other villages have given her.
